Adam Hills aside, Australian voices aren't heard all that much on evening tele here in the UK. Which is odd, given how many Aussies live in London (if you sit on the tube for more than two stops, you're guaranteed to hear at least one).
So, with that in mind, I recently did some stuff for the fantastic ITV London crew. Twitter feedback seemed to be very much 'pro-accent'. I have to admit though, I've started to say 'lorry' instead of 'truck' and I'm growing increasingly fond of responding to people with 'innit'. Perhaps I'll sound British by the end of the year.
Anyway, the first story features Russell Brand. For reasons best known to him, he gave me a hug.
The second yarn focused on housing affordability in London- something anyone who has moved here has had issues with. Boris Johnson wasn't available for interviews, sadly.
After a couple of years of sending stories across the globe and never seeing them go to air, I had forgotten that feeling of satisfaction when you watch a yarn go to air, live. Good times.
